this morning, october 24, at 10:42, about, my dog finally passed away.

there's nothing i can really say that people don't already know, except i'm sorry if i'm all emo for the next couple of days, weeks, maybe months, because this dog was very close to me, and everyone in the family.

a few days ago, he was diagnosed with lymphoma, and today, he passed away, in my arms. the tears will not stop flowing, but i'm happy that he had constant company for the last 24 hours of his life. i slept with him at night, and when i woke up, i never left his side, and always had a hand on him to pet him, so he wouldn't have to be alone in his final hours.

when i was petting him, before the vet came to put him down (we did it in the house, we couldn't move him at all), it was like he wanted me to stop crying. he put his head on my lap, and put his muzzle under my hand, and licked me a little. i have to say, it physically hurts. my heart feels like it's been torn into many pieces, and even though i know it's final, i don't want to believe he's gone. i loved him, he was my best friend, and he was the one who supported me emotionally through grade school.

keegan was my best friend, and i'm sorry to have him go. describing how i feel right now would be like trying to lift the sears tower. i'm posting this, so i don't have to describe this to everyone on my buddy list, retelling it once hurts enough.

keegan, i love you, and, though i hope it's not permanent, goodbye, at least for this life.you will always have my heart, and one day, when i find you again, maybe in the next life, maybe as a spirit, i'll be able to give you as much love and attention as you deserve.
